The Damascus Story
When a furniture upholsterer Sherwin Enoch decided to convert part of his upholstery business called Damascus Interiors into reupholstering and manufacturing gym equipment, He called the new company Damascus Fitness, which later evolved into Damascus Sport. Founded in 1967, the company had a rich history in the traditional upholstery and furniture industry - but that would soon change.
Damascus Sport supplies over 300 fitness outlets in South Africa, has green credentials of recycled foam and rubber, and has factories in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Johannesburg and Cape Town. This transition has been anchored by a full rebrand and repositioning strategy to catalyse Damascus Sport's Success. With production facilities in South Africa’s 3 major cities, increased manufacturing capacity, state of the art machinery, green credentials in the form of recycled rubber to create a variety of fitness products and qualified, experienced staff, Damascus Sport is making a significant impact on the industry.
